“When we fight, we win,” was not a successful campaign slogan. Adapted by the Harris-Walz Presidential campaign in 2024, it failed to capture the full imagination, excitement, or collective energy of a weary and anxious electorate. The tough political fighter avatar is well ingrained within the MAGA movement. It’s a core characteristic of their patriotic identity: fight to win, respect the victorious, and exploit the rules for personal gain. For a nation exhausted by endless wars, political polarization, power-hungry systems, and arrogance, we don’t need a champion fighter for this generation. We need a movement grounded in cooperative and compassionate solutions for all.

While the electorate ultimately sided with an autocratic populist, polls and public sentiment beyond a small percentage of the ideologically committed suggest this isn’t the leadership they wanted. Hope and sustainable change are what we dream of in our ever-growing complex world. But without a viable alternative, people can only choose between what they are presented with.

Let us become the people we want others to be—the courageous dreamers of a better tomorrow.

Our world is rife with violence against each other, nature, and ourselves. We suffer under the plight of our fragile existence but with surprising resilience. In our adolescent moments, the world is viewed as a place to conquer or be conquered. Observations of natural systems and the great philosophers of humanity have been used to support an argument for this implied understanding of life. When the imagination for transcendent possibility and potential is oppressed, life becomes nothing more than strategic competition, exploitation, and a game of existential survival.

Movements of hope are built on seeing the world and our predicament in a different light. Refusing to cede individual power and agency to others who claim to define the rules is the beginning of telling an alternative story that inspires hope and change. Movements of hope are empowered by what we believe about ourselves and each other. When we change our beliefs, we change our vision of the future.

“When we dream, we unite.”

Our movement of hope is based on values that reconcile our differences, not erase them; invite collaboration, not conflict; share power, not wield it; and pursue goodness, not vengeance. A better tomorrow is built on pursuing holistic solutions, openness and inclusion, progress and innovation, and equitable outcomes that create a more just world for everyone, everywhere.

Hope is believing in possibility. It’s the promise that what cannot be seen will be revealed in our lifetime through progressive change. If hope lives in our hearts and minds, change begins with our voices and actions.

Let us become the people we want others to be—the courageous dreamers of a better tomorrow. “When we dream, we unite.”
